Just learned that the Andromeda Galaxy is actually bigger in our sky than the moon

Okay but like, you can't actually see it. So does that fact even matter in a real way?

Am I the only one who got into a full-blown argument over the ending of 'The Silent Patient' at my book club last week?

Oh man, my book club still won't let me pick the books after my 'Gone Girl' take.

I was gluing endpapers wrong for years and didn't know it

Totally get that feeling of missing a simple trick. Reminds me of when I first tried to sew a quilt. I was cutting all my fabric squares with scissors, and they were always a little off. My neighbor saw me struggling and just handed me a rotary cutter. Changed everything overnight. Sometimes you just don't know the tool or the method exists until you see it done right.

Fixing a 1985 Nikon FE2 last week made me miss the old parts catalogs

Read a blog post about someone finding rare parts that way.

My professor told me to focus on soil layers at the Roman site in York, and it completely changed how I see excavation.

Yeah, and it's wild how our brains are trained to look for the "important" stuff. @the_anthony almost tossing that bead is a perfect example. We're scanning for coins or pottery, not a bit of worn bone. But that bead was probably someone's favorite thing, carried around for years. It makes you wonder what else we've missed because it didn't look shiny or big. The real story is in the small, worn-out junk people used every single day.
