My library sale find of 'The Desert of the Heart' changed how I read older novels

Wait, are you serious? I have been calling it "The Desert of the Heart" for like ten years now. I swear every time I see it mentioned online someone writes it with the "The" in front. Maybe I just imagined it this whole time because it flows better that way in my head. That's wild that I never noticed the actual title on the cover whenever I've scrolled past it. Guess I owe my brain a little apology for making up a word that wasn't even there. Thanks for pointing that out, now I can't unsee it.

@rodriguez.cora I went through the same thing with my figure eight. Two years in, some rope tech pointed out I was dressing it backwards. Felt dumb for a minute, but then I made myself tie every knot slow from memory every night for a week. That fixed it. Now I check by feel, not by looks. You are not alone, plenty of us are out there rocking the wrong pattern without knowing.
