TIL a loose RAM stick can cause random blue screens that look like a failing hard drive

Had a laptop from a buddy that kept crashing during video calls. Spent two days reinstalling drivers and swapping out the hard drive. Turned out one of the RAM slots was slightly bent. Pushed it back into place with a toothpick and it ran fine for another year. The blue screens were inconsistent too, like once an hour then nothing for three days. Classic RAM acting up.

That one time a client told me my cabinet handles looked like bad jewelry

Honestly, that cardboard template sounds like overkill. I mean, I've been hanging cabinets for 8 years in Minneapolis and I still eyeball handle placement. Like, half my clients don't even notice if things are a quarter inch off. And the ones who do? They're usually the type who'll find something to complain about no matter what. My dad taught me this trick back in '07 - just use your thumb as a spacer between handles. Works fine, saves all that time cutting templates, and nobody's ever sent me back to fix it.

Had to choose between a greenhouse kit and building my own from scrap wood last spring

Prefab would've saved you the headache for sure... that sloped yard is a beast. Leveling a frame on grade is the part nobody talks about, just takes forever with shims and digging.

My babka dough turned into soup after I left it on the radiator

Honestly, I totally feel your pain! Ngl, I tried to speed up a challah dough once by putting it on top of my fridge near the vent. Came back an hour later and it was a greasy, sticky mess. The butter literally pooled at the bottom of the bowl. Had to scrap the whole thing and start over. That slow and steady thing is real - now I just stick my dough in the microwave with a cup of hot water and it proofs perfect every time. Better safe than cleaning up a puddle of butter and flour again.

Finally figured out why my corners kept blowing out

My uncle tried laying bricks during a surprise heatwave last July and the whole wall looked cracked by the next morning. He ended up covering the whole thing with damp burlap sacks for two days straight and it actually held up fine after that. Might not look pretty but hey, whatever works for keeping those bricks from turning into a patchwork mess.
