My mom called my emergency fund 'boring money' and it clicked

We were talking about a big sale and I said I couldn't touch my savings. She laughed and said, 'Oh, your boring money.' It made me realize that's the whole point. It's not supposed to be exciting, it's supposed to be there. Anyone else have a name for their safety net cash?

My buddy calls his the "sleep at night fund"... he had a car breakdown last winter and just paid for it without any stress. Said naming it that made it feel less like locked-up cash and more like buying peace of mind.
