Discovered the 'stolen line' trick for dialogue prompts and it saved my stalled scene after 3 drafts

I kept hitting a wall with a character's backstory until I literally copied a line from a real argument I overheard at a coffee shop in Portland, and then rewrote it into the scene - has anyone else found lifting real talk from strangers fixes a flat story faster than any prompt generator?

Totally. Swiped a stranger's breakup line once, fixed everything.

Got a buddy who overheard a guy at a coffee shop say "I need someone who actually wants to build a life, not just fill a calendar." He used it on his girlfriend the next day. She was always too busy for him, booking stuff every weekend. It worked, she said he finally got it.
