Changed my mind about using a regular screwdriver for tiny camera screws

I always thought my old set of jeweler's screwdrivers was fine for compact camera work, but I kept stripping screws on a Minolta X-700 last week. A friend told me to try a set of JIS drivers he got for $35, specifically the Vessel brand. The difference was huge, I mean, the fit is perfect and I haven't messed up a single screw since I switched. It turns out a lot of those 'Phillips' screws on Japanese cameras are actually JIS, and using the wrong tool wrecks them. Has anyone else made this switch and noticed a big drop in stripped screws?

Vent: My first attempt at hand-lubing switches went way too far

I got a set of Gateron Yellows and spent about 4 hours last weekend lubing every single one with Krytox 205g0. The board feels like I'm typing on wet clay now, totally mushy with no sound at all. I think I put on way too much and maybe even got lube on the stems. What's a good way to fix this without having to buy a whole new set of switches?

Oh yeah, totally agree with @palmer.avery. I mean, once you see it on paper, you can't ignore the mistake like you can in your head. It just makes the whole problem way more real and easier to fix.

Ever tried using dry ice on a dent after heating it? The quick cold shock can help the metal snap back into shape even better. It's a cool combo that really locks in the repair.

Yeah, Denver can be a nightmare for that. I got stuck in Chicago once and ended up using HotelTonight. Scored a room for half the price because it was so last minute. Sometimes those apps really come through when everything else is booked or crazy expensive. It's the only good part of a messed up travel day.
