Just hit 500 miles on the Pacific Crest Trail and it feels totally different than I thought it would.

I mean, I knew the number was coming up, but when my app ticked over at the end of a long day near Seiad Valley, it hit me. It's not just about the distance, it's about how my pack feels lighter and the daily aches don't bother me as much anymore. I guess my body finally got used to walking all day, every day. Has anyone else had a specific mileage where everything just seemed to click?

Yeah, and then the two thousand mark hits like a freight train.

What freight train? Hitting 2000 miles felt smooth for me. My old Civic just got quieter, like everything settled in. The first thousand was way worse with all the weird new car noises. Maybe you just got a bad one or drive it too hard.

Wait until you hit the thousand mile mark.
