Vent: My broker canceled my limit order during a dip last Friday

Did you ask them for a specific timestamp or log of the system error? I mean, it sounds sketchy that they'd just cancel an order during a Friday selloff like that, especially with no heads up. Idk maybe it's just me but I'd be pushing them hard for a written explanation or some proof that it wasn't just them covering their own positions. Did you try asking if they have any records of the order getting queued or processed before the cancel? Feels like they're hoping you'll just drop it and move on, but if this was a solid trade, I'd want to see the actual error message or system log they're claiming.

I finally figured out why my cutterhead keeps clogging in heavy clay

What pump size you running with that 12-inch cutter? I'm wondering if a bigger pump would help even with slow swing speed.

Broke a spoke on a 30 mile ride yesterday

Yeah, did you try giving them a tiny bit of slack? I did that on my stock wheels and it actually helped. Snapped one myself a few months back and since then I just back the tension off a tiny turn on each spoke.

Checked my Edmonton Chat post history and hit a weird number

Totally get that feeling about a round number making you stop. I remember when my post count hit 250 and it felt like a little milestone showing how many random Edmonton problems this place has helped me solve.

Warning: My smoker thermometer failed mid-cook last Saturday

Wait did you actually cook the whole brisket by feel? That's wild. I tried that once with a pork shoulder and ended up pulling it off the smoker at like 140 degrees cause it felt too soft. My wife still brings it up at family dinners like it's a war story. But honestly I think there's something to cooking by feel, it's just that sometimes your gut feeling is wrong and you end up with meat that could double as a hockey puck. At least you got a good story out of it though, those are the meals nobody forgets.
