inUpdate: Stopped by the old high school auto shop in Tacoma
Rebuilding a carburetor is a great skill if you're planning to time travel back to 1985. The safety stuff they're teaching now is about high voltage systems, not mixing air and fuel. It's like complaining that new pilots don't know how to grease a buggy wheel.

inMy friend told me to stop trying to win at Catan and just block people
Totally agree about messing with the leader, I started blocking people too and my scores shot up!

inPro tip: I thought the 'ice cube trick' for a noisy dishwasher was a joke until I tried it on a Whirlpool last week.
Wait, a SINGLE ice cube did all that?

inMy laptop almost died in a hostel in Chiang Mai and it changed my whole backup plan
That part about having all your client files with no backup made my stomach drop. I can't even imagine the panic of sitting in a cafe for two days just stuck. Your new setup with two cloud services is smart, it's like a belt and suspenders. I keep a tiny portable hard drive in my bag as a physical backup, just in case the internet is bad somewhere. The power surge protector is a great tip too, those sketchy outlets are everywhere.

inSpent $800 on a fancy digital kiln controller and it just made my work worse
That's rough, but maybe the controller needs a different firing schedule? I've heard some of the fancy ones can mess up if you just use the default settings. Might be worth looking up a tutorial for your specific clay body.
