Old guy down the street saw me pouring out layer pellets and said I was ruining my flock. He told me to switch to a fermented grain mix with oyster shells on the side instead. I was skeptical but tried it for 3 months and my chickens at 123 Oak Street lay way bigger eggs now. Anyone else got told they were doing something basic completely backwards?

Unpopular opinion: paperback beats hardcover for actually reading any day

I grabbed two copies of Neuromancer at a library sale last month, one hardcover for $2 and one beat up paperback for 50 cents. The hardcover just sat on my shelf because it's heavy and awkward to hold in bed or on the bus. The paperback I finished in three days. Those thick paperbacks might look rough but they're way more practical for actual reading. Am I the only one who skips the pretty hardcovers at thrift stores?

Last summer I wore my Donkey Kong Junior cosplay to Phoenix Fan Fest and the 110 degree heat turned my hot glue joints into goo, the foam banana started dripping down my arm during a photo shoot. I spent the rest of the day wearing a trash bag vest over it to hide the mess. Anyone else have a con meltdown because of weather?

Worst week I've ever had setting posts in Texas clay

Last August I was working a 400 foot job outside Austin and the ground was so dry and hard I broke 3 auger bits in two days. Then a thunderstorm rolled in and turned the whole site into a mud pit, ruining my concrete mix for 12 post holes. Anybody else ever deal with weather that just fights you every step of the way?
