Stashing connector scraps saved my sensor install on bumpy trim
I was setting up a system in a house with really uneven door frames and the sensors wouldn't sit flat. I trimmed a small piece from a spare wire connector to use as a shim, and it worked LIKE a charm. What's your go-to move when mounts won't stick to weird surfaces?

Yeah, that connector scrap idea is genius. It reminds me of how we all kinda hack things together in daily life. Like using old credit cards as scrapers or wads of tape to level stuff. I've even seen people use cereal box cardboard as shims for furniture. It's all about seeing junk as handy fixes, lmao. We just work with what's in the junk drawer.

Watch junk hacks become creative outlets when people are bored.

Honestly that line about the junk drawer really hit me. I used to get so annoyed at all the random stuff piling up in mine. Tbh I saw it as just clutter to clean out. But after seeing some of these hacks, I started looking at those old bits and pieces differently. Now I catch myself saving weird little things thinking they might fix something later.
