inFound out 1 in 5 school buses in Alberta fail safety inspections on the first try
Hate to be that person but it's actually not that common for them to catch brake issues on the first try. Most shops just do a quick visual and call it good, the real problems don't show up until you get the rotors off. That first inspection is more about catching the obvious stuff.

inChoosing a drysuit over a wetsuit for a winter job in Seattle was the right call
Oh man, nobody's talking about the mobility factor though... I've seen guys in drysuits struggle with dexterity on delicate dock work because of all the layers underneath. That extra bulk can really mess with your ability to feel what you're doing with your hands after a while.

inMy go-to trick for fixing bell ends on the fly
You ever do something that works so good you almost feel guilty about it? Heat gun trick is legit. I tried it once with a hair dryer from a hotel room cause I was in a pinch and forgot mine. Worked like a charm until the dryer melted a little bit. Lesson learned: stick to the heat gun unless you want to explain to your wife why her hair dryer looks like a melted prop from a horror movie.

inWas totally wrong about ultrasonic cleaners for old lenses
Gotta keep it under 50C though or you'll soften old lens cement.

inI'm sticking with water-based primer over epoxy on older cars
Is it really that serious though? I mean, people have been skipping the full epoxy deal on old cars for years and they seem fine. Maybe it's just one of those things where the internet overcomplicates what's basically a weekend project.
