inUpdate: Walked into a local Edward Jones office in Springfield for a quick question
Man, I used to think that kind of formal intro showed they were professional. Then I went in for a basic Roth IRA question and got the same history lesson. It clicked for me when I realized they spent more time on their awards than on my actual tax situation. Now it just feels like a filter to see who will sit through the pitch.

inVent: A stair runner job in Westview went sideways when the old padding disintegrated
That 80s foam is the worst. I mean, I get the frustration, but I actually prefer when it crumbles like that. The old rubber mesh padding from the 70s is way harder to scrape off cleanly. At least the dust just vacuums up. I've spent hours with a scraper and adhesive remover on the rubber stuff, that's a real half-day killer. The powder is annoying, but it's a faster cleanup in the long run.

inFound my great-aunt's recipe for 'Depression Cake' in a box of old papers. No eggs, no butter, no milk. Made it yesterday. Hit 87 years since she wrote it down.
That's such a cool piece of family history to find!

inMy writing group argued for a month over whether to kill off the main character's dog in chapter 3.
Oh man, the dog living is the real twist. Now the main character has to deal with vet bills and chewed-up shoes.

inVent: I keep seeing shops set disc brake pad gaps way too tight
Watched my buddy cook a brand new rotor on a long descent because his shop set the pads stupid close. Had to tell him that tiny gap was basically holding the heat in.
