inMy new tracking mount failed on its first real test last night
My 2019 smart thermostat did the same thing last winter, just decided the living room was 85 degrees and cranked the AC. @cameron318 is right, it feels like everything runs on beta software now. My car's infotainment system reboots at the same left turn every Tuesday. You buy a finished product but spend the next two years just hoping the next patch fixes the gremlins.

inSpent $300 on a gas detector before going into the old Sunrise Pavilion mall and it probably saved my life from a carbon monoxide pocket near the food court.
Okay, but if you're gonna correct someone's gas, maybe bring your own detector to the argument (just saying). That old mall air probably has a whole cocktail of "nope" brewing by the food court. Fresh air drafts are great until you're the one who finds the draft that's 90% ghost breath and asbestos. Honestly, $300 sounds cheap compared to the hospital bill for breathing in vintage mall soup.

inSerious question, after seeing a guy in Boise forge a perfect scroll with just a ball-peen hammer and a stump.
Watched a guy forge a leaf with just a rock.

inThe client who asked for 'sunset hair' and brought in a picture of a literal sunset
So did she actually like the final look, or was she upset it wasn't a perfect match to the sky?

inSpent $800 on a new drafting tablet and it completely messed up my workflow
Ugh, that's so frustrating. I read an article last week about how screenless tablets have a real learning curve for technical drawing. The writer said it's like learning to draw all over again because your brain has to remap where your hand is. It makes total sense that HVAC schematics, with all those tiny details, would be the worst for that disconnect. Did you try any of those cursor placement exercises, or was it just hopeless from the start?
