My new tracking mount failed on its first real test last night

I finally got the Sky-Watcher Star Adventurer GTi out for a session to capture the Orion Nebula, but after about 20 minutes of perfect tracking, it just started slewing wildly to the east. I had to power cycle the whole thing and lost my polar alignment, ruining the imaging run. Has anyone else had a similar glitch with this mount, or was I just unlucky?

That exact thing happened to my buddy's GTi last month, same random eastward slew. Honestly it seems like a software bug they still haven't fixed. Tbh losing that polar alignment after a perfect start is the worst feeling. I'd check for a firmware update before you take it out again.

My 2019 smart thermostat did the same thing last winter, just decided the living room was 85 degrees and cranked the AC. @cameron318 is right, it feels like everything runs on beta software now. My car's infotainment system reboots at the same left turn every Tuesday. You buy a finished product but spend the next two years just hoping the next patch fixes the gremlins.
