Yeah I always went straight for the heat gun too lol. But @jamesrivera is right, the hairdryer trick is way safer for the foam. I tried it last time and had way fewer close calls.

Man... that empty space must really get to you. I get that sick feeling when you trade a quiet principle for a loud paycheck. Seeing a healthy tree come down for a deck is just a gut punch. That guilt's a rough teacher, but it shows you still care about the work. Maybe next time that feeling kicks in earlier, before the chainsaws do.
