Just spent $300 on a consultation with a search specialist

I hired someone to help me find my son, and they basically just ran the same public records searches I could have done myself. It felt like a real waste, especially since the money came out of my reunion fund. Has anyone had a better experience with a paid search service that actually delivered results?

Wow, that's rough. In my experience, a good specialist's real value is in the analysis and leads you wouldn't know to look for, not just the database access.

It's a real shame how many services just repackage free tools. They bank on people being too stressed to know the difference. Makes you wonder what you're really paying for.
