inMy Tuesday started with a walk-in asking for a full skin fade on a kid who would not sit still
Man, that "cursed" feeling is so real. I've had those days where the bad clients stack up and it just gets in your head. What works for me is focusing on the next specific task, like cleaning my station really well, instead of the money lost. It stops the spiral. That Mr. Jenkins type of client is a lifesaver, a solid reminder that not everyone is the worst. Glad he turned it around for you.

inI finally saw the new cupola upgrade at the local foundry.
Actually got closer to 20% at our place after some fine tuning. The older gear just can't hit those numbers. Key was matching the recovery rate to our actual melt shop schedule.

inPSA: My cousin's dishwasher idea with foil went totally wrong
So what's the deal with the toothpaste thing, like what was your friend even trying to cover? @elliots23 mentioned it turning moldy and that's just nasty. I've heard of people using it on small nail holes, but it seems like such a weird gamble. It's not made for walls, it's made to go in your mouth, so of course it gets gross. It makes you wonder what other weird household items people are smearing on their walls instead of just buying a five dollar tub of spackle.

inShowerthought: My prompt about a lost library book got 47 replies
Actually it's more like a bunch of people just adding their own spin to the same idea. A real writing project would need some planning and editing together. This is just a fun chain of ideas. Still cool to see, but it's its own thing.

inTIL the Coleman 2-burner stove I've had for 5 years can't handle the wind at Joshua Tree like my buddy's Jetboil Genesis.
Get a windscreen, seriously. I cut mine from a cheap disposable aluminum roasting pan and it made a huge difference for my old Coleman. The Genesis is great because its design blocks wind by itself, but you can hack most stoves to work better. For a dedicated upgrade, I've had good luck with the Camp Chef Everest, it sits low and the valve is protected. Just know that no stove is perfect in a full Joshua Tree gust, you still want to find a natural windbreak.
