Did you check for phantom loads from stuff on standby? I read an article about how standby power can add up to 10% to a bill. That extra check might be worth it too.

How bad was it?

Take it from someone who learned on a bathroom floor. In my experience, those little spacers are the only thing keeping your grout lines from looking like a wavy, drunk mess. I even snap a photo of my layout before the mortar sets, just to have proof the lines were straight before I potentially ruin it.

Ever tried using a pencil eraser for that?

Check refrigerant handling too, huge difference now.
