Thinking about elevator oil changes and the environment now

We used to dump that old hydraulic fluid without a care. Now, most shops have proper recycling for it, which is a good step. Makes you wonder what other habits we've cleaned up, right?

Check refrigerant handling too, huge difference now.

Yeah, the "difference now" part is a bit off. The big switch to the new rules happened a few years back, like 2020. It just made the certification a bigger pain to get.

My buddy Jake in Phoenix saw a shop just hose old fluid into a storm drain last year. It's wild that stuff still happens, which kinda makes sense what @tyler_ward92 said about the cert being a pain now. They probably had to crack down harder on the bad actors.
