Looking for a prepaid electric company in TX (no massive deposits plz)

Hey everyone, I'm moving into a new apartment in Dallas this weekend and I'm hitting a wall with setting up my utilities. My credit isn't the best right now and the standard electric companies are quoting me insane deposits (like $400+) just to turn the lights on. Can anyone recommend a decent prepaid electricity provider? I just need something with no credit check where I can pay as I go, preferably one that can connect it by Friday.

If you organize stuff at home like you pack a bag... you'll never need more than carry-on.

Vent: Thinking about how late night anime chats messed with my head over the years

I mean, back in the day, spending hours on message boards debating endings would leave me totally zonked the next day. Now, with all the quick fire takes on social media, I feel more jumpy and less focused after scrolling. Idk, maybe it's just me, but those old long talks felt worth the tiredness, unlike the stress I get now. It's weird how something fun can shift from draining your energy to messing with your mood.

My daughter begs to help with refinishing, but my husband won't allow it

She keeps asking to join me while I work on an old desk. I feel it's a good chance to show her a useful craft. He says the sanding dust and finish fumes are too risky for a kid. We really disagree on this. How do you all deal with family wanting to learn the trade?
