Vent: Thinking about how late night anime chats messed with my head over the years
I mean, back in the day, spending hours on message boards debating endings would leave me totally zonked the next day. Now, with all the quick fire takes on social media, I feel more jumpy and less focused after scrolling. Idk, maybe it's just me, but those old long talks felt worth the tiredness, unlike the stress I get now. It's weird how something fun can shift from draining your energy to messing with your mood.

Back then, those late night talks had a rhythm that let ideas sink in, even if we were tired. Now, everything moves so fast that my brain doesn't get time to process before the next hot take pops up. It's like comparing a slow cooked meal to junk food snacks for your thoughts. The old way built connections over time, but now it's just noise that leaves you on edge. Maybe we lost the pause button between reactions.

Ask if we can ever get that pause button back. Slow talks built trust over time, which is hard to find now. Tbh, I wonder if we even want to slow down anymore.

On the old Dragon Ball Z forums, we'd argue for hours about power levels. I learned to mute hot take accounts and set a timer for social media. It forces a hard stop, like closing the browser tab at 2 AM used to. You get some of that old control back without quitting cold turkey.
