inQuestion about trusting cheap tour deals from people you meet abroad
Learned this the hard way when I rented a SUV last year. The guy showed me a fake insurance card and I didn't check his license. Had a small crash and found out there was no coverage. @danielblack is right, always check the license first to avoid messes.

inI finally had an epiphany about why abandoned malls are sealed so tight
Yikes, liability is king here. @theat70 is right about the echoes, but now it's just the sound of dripping water (and maybe rats). I mean, think about all the broken tiles and loose railings. One wrong step and you're in a world of hurt, and the owners don't want that lawsuit. It's cheaper to fence it off than fix it up (which is kinda sad). So yeah, they seal it tight and hope everyone stays out.

inCan we talk about the rush to replace instead of repair?
Aren't they just after our money?

inUpdate: Why I think seat time beats all the new simulators
Ever think maybe sims are good for the scary stuff you can't practice safely? Like, I froze up on black ice my first winter, no sim could prep me for that pucker factor. But our new crane sim actually lets you practice crazy wind scenarios until your brain stops panicking. Muscle memory for emergency stops feels different when your butt isn't actually in the seat, but at least your eyes learn what to look for.

inCustom designs are getting too simple, and it's a shame
It's like how fancy restaurants now serve deconstructed food that's just ingredients on a plate. The skill gets hidden when everything trends toward bare basics.
