inSkipping the gym for balcony gardening fixed my anxiety.
It's interesting how different things work for people. The gym actually does more for my anxiety because it burns off that restless energy. After a heavy lifting session, my brain just goes quiet in a way quiet hobbies don't achieve. Maybe @coleh51 finds peace in stillness, but I need to move to shut the noise off. For me, a tomato plant would just be another thing to worry about watering.

inMy cinnamon roll win after learning to wait
Seriously, three hours just sitting out? That sounds like forever to wait. But fluffy rolls are totally worth the hassle.

inA brake cable blunder made me start drawing repair diagrams
Last year my buddy got hit and his insurance claim got messy because he had no proof of the original repair work. A clear diagram from the mechanic showing exactly what was done would have saved him thousands. That mechanic isn't just fixing your car for now, he's creating a record for any future problems or accidents. If the work ever gets questioned, those notes protect both of you. So yeah, he needs a good diagram to cover his own work, and that ends up covering you too down the road. It's less about who needs it more and more about it being a necessary part of the job.

inTrying to restore a vintage dozer is frustrating when parts vanish
That story about the carburetor costing more than the truck is exactly what I mean. But is it really that big of a deal? It's a hobby, you chose to do it for fun. If it feels like a second job, maybe just...don't do it? Or pick a simpler project. Nobody's making you track down impossible parts. The machine isn't going anywhere.

inMy brother's help almost cost me a client yesterday
Last summer my cousin wanted to help me install a ceiling fan. I saw him looking at his phone while holding the ladder steady. I quickly asked him to just organize the screws and parts on the table instead. It kept him busy and away from the actual danger.
