My neighbor's dog vanished for a full day, then was back in his yard like nothing happened.

I saw him get out and run down the street, but his owner swears the gate was locked the whole time. Has anyone else had a pet just reappear without a clear way back?

My cat Mittens did that last year. She was gone for three days and I was putting up flyers. Woke up on the fourth morning and she was just sleeping on the porch chair, totally clean and not hungry. My screen door was still locked from the inside. It's so weird how they manage it.

I always thought there had to be a logical explanation for these things. After my own cat pulled a similar trick, I had to accept that sometimes we just don't know how they do it. It's one of those small mysteries.
