inDropped $40 on a Silver Age key issue that turned out to be a reprint from the 90s
Forty bucks for a fancy coaster, that's a deal I guess. At least it'll look good on a bookshelf from three feet away. Silver lining is you now have a built in test to see which friends actually know their comics.

inHit my 5 year mark as a birth mother and it hit me harder than I expected
5 year mark as a birth mother" - honestly im gonna push back here. you signed up for this, you knew the deal when you placed the kid. the whole point is that they move on and you move on too. milestones are just numbers we make up in our heads, they dont have to mean anything unless you let them. maybe sit with why you're still holding onto this so tight after half a decade.

Oh man, I bought a digital scale for my shop that was off by three percent right out of the box.

inWarning: Don't waste your money on that fancy sourdough proofing basket
Figured I was just being cheap but sounds like the quality really ain't there... I was about to drop $50 on one of those bamboo ones from a big brand site, you just saved me the headache. Guess I'll keep using my beat up metal bowl and a flour sack towel, works fine for me and never tears up my dough.

inUpdate: I was scoring my own glass for years before a new guy in the shop asked why I didn't just use the cutter on the straight edge
Four summers of hand-sanding cabinet doors before I found the orbital sander hanging right next to my bench. My uncle swore by the "old way gives a better finish" line, but I bet he just liked watching me suffer. I still have the calluses to prove it. That first day with the sander cut a two-week job down to two days. Still can't believe I didn't notice it sooner, just assumed that's how it was supposed to be done.
