Can we talk about that big pour at the new hospital in Boise last month?
We had to finish a massive section in 95 degree heat and the mix started setting up way faster than we planned. My foreman grabbed a garden sprayer and misted the surface with water before we started floating, which bought us maybe 15 extra minutes of work time. What's your go-to trick for fighting flash set on a hot day?

That garden sprayer trick is a lifesaver. I see this everywhere now, people using simple tools in clever ways to solve a problem the fancy stuff can't handle. My crew keeps a few bags of ice in the truck bed to cool the mixing water on really bad days. It's not perfect, but it takes the edge off when the concrete starts acting up in the heat.

My buddy's crew had a hose burst on a pour last summer. They fixed it with duct tape and a cut up soda bottle until the supply run came back. Sometimes the simple fix is the only one that gets the job done.
