Question about torque wrenches: I borrowed a buddy's old click-type for a flap actuator job and it felt like guessing. Used our shop's new digital one on the same job yesterday and the difference was insane.

Honestly that's the whole thing with the old ones, you gotta be right on top of them to catch that little click and even then sometimes it's so soft you think it didn't happen. Tbh I've had a few times where I thought I heard it and then later realized nope, it was just the door settling or something random. Ngl the new ones take all that guessing out of it, which is a huge relief when you're trying to lock up late at night and just want to be sure. Once you get used to that clear snap or beep or whatever, it's hard to go back to hoping you caught the right sound.

Clipper blade tension: tight vs loose, which side are you on?

Tight blades irritate his skin" nailed it. I loosen mine up for anyone with sensitivity now.

Hit 1000 square yards installed in a single month last July in Phoenix

For real, just picturing that heat makes me want to lie down. How do you even function after a day like that without crashing for 12 hours straight?

Update: That book I was skeptical about actually wrecked me good

Oh which one was it for you? I had that moment with A Little Life a few years back and honestly I still think about it more than I'd like to admit. It's weird how a book can just sit with you and make you feel things you weren't ready for. I get the eye roll thing though I used to be the same way until I found myself ugly crying on the couch at 2am. Hope you're doing okay after it, some of them really do leave a mark.

I used to think calming collars were a total scam but my cat proved me wrong after 3 days

Heard about this from a vet friend actually, @blakem82. She said the pheromone collars mimic nursing mom dog smells, basically tricks their brain into calming down. Luna's fur pulling was probably a deep anxiety thing, not just boredom. My neighbor's cat did the same thing, bald patches everywhere, and the collar helped within a week. It's not a cure-all but for some animals it's like flipping a switch. Just wish pet insurance covered more of this stuff, you know?
