My sister said something weird about the old Sun Valley Mall fountain

I used to only see dead malls as these sad, empty boxes. Then my friend pointed to a broken tile in the food court of our old mall and said that's exactly where he dropped his first soft pretzel and cried for an hour. It flipped a switch for me. Now I walk through those places and wonder about all the regular days people had there, not just the end of the story.

Remembering my grandpa's reaction to watching a whole season of 'The Wire' in one weekend back in 2008.

Actually, DVDs made bingeing possible way before 2008.

Our club in Denver keeps saying 'The Great Gatsby' is about love, but that's missing the whole point.

My old book club spent three whole meetings fighting over whether Moby Dick is about obsession or just a really long manual on whaling. We never did agree, and the group fell apart soon after. I still get a little mad when I see a whale. It's funny how people can read the same words and come away with totally different ideas. Your Gatsby example is perfect, because reducing it to a love story ignores all the sharp stuff about money and wanting what you can't have.

Just realized my friend's Titanic ending idea actually works

Wait, what about the old guy finding it though?" That's the whole problem, @smith.uma. It makes no sense for his character to just stumble onto it after all that build-up. It feels like the writers forgot about him for three episodes and then needed a quick ending. They set up this whole complex heist just to have it resolved by pure luck. It's lazy.
