Remembering my grandpa's reaction to watching a whole season of 'The Wire' in one weekend back in 2008.
He just looked up from the couch after the last episode and said, 'We used to wait a week for that?' and it hit me how much TV has changed.

Actually, DVDs made bingeing possible way before 2008.

That's a good point from @chen.jade about DVDs. The real shift was streaming making that binge model the default for everyone. Before that, you had to plan ahead and own the physical set. Now the entire library is just there, which really did change how we watch. Your grandpa's moment still captures that feeling when the new normal clicks.
