Just realized my friend's Titanic ending idea actually works

He said over coffee, 'Rose should have thrown the Heart of the Ocean into the sea, not off the ship, to finally let Jack go.' I've been thinking about that for a week now. What's the best alternate ending you've ever heard?

Remember that fan theory about the ending of The Matrix? My buddy was convinced for years that Neo should have woken up in a pod next to Trinity, not alone. He said it would have made the "love conquers the machine logic" thing actually work.

Wait, what about the old guy finding it though?" That's the whole problem, @smith.uma. It makes no sense for his character to just stumble onto it after all that build-up. It feels like the writers forgot about him for three episodes and then needed a quick ending. They set up this whole complex heist just to have it resolved by pure luck. It's lazy.
