Guild rules from centuries ago still mess with how I run my painting crew.
If those old masters had allowed more flexibility, we might not have such rigid hierarchies today. My team would work smoother without all the outdated steps.

The original guild rules were made for physical workshops with maybe ten people. Caseyblack's tweaks show they can adapt to digital teams of fifty now. That physical versus digital gap is the real root of the stiffness today.

Yeah, I've noticed this in so many places. Like how my mom's old recipe card for soup had to be changed when we got an instant pot. The basics are there, but the steps need tweaking for new tools. @tarahart is right about that gap causing stiffness. We see it in school too, where old homework rules don't fit online learning. Adapting old ways just makes sense now.
