inUpdate: I just spent $40 on a 'secure' USB drive that was already full of malware
Checked their other listings once and it was all broken electronics and used socks. Lily_ramirez4, that's a solid tip to avoid a bad surprise. Felt like walking into a digital garage sale from hell. Now I always scroll down before clicking buy.

inStopped by a bakery in Austin and saw a tray of cookies that looked like abstract art
That greasy sheet pan sounds familiar. Once tried making shortbread on a hot day without chilling, and the butter just melted into a sad puddle. Now I stick the dough in the freezer for twenty minutes if I'm in a rush. It firms up enough to hold its shape, so you still get those nice, crisp edges.

inHot take: I dropped $450 on a custom graphite paddle for shaping, and I'm still not sure if it was genius or a total waste. One side says it's the best control they've ever had, the other says a $50 wooden one does the same job. What's your take?
Spot this all the time with gear. People chase the high end item hoping it unlocks a new skill level. Sometimes it does, most times you just paid a lot to learn you need more practice, not a better tool. That paddle might feel amazing, but only you can decide if the feel is worth the cost. The real waste is buying it and then being too scared to actually use it hard.

inA client in Savannah said my silt curtain setup was a joke
What makes you so sure the spread was the only factor? Turbidity can drop for a dozen reasons like current shift or settling time. Sometimes a client sees a problem and you fix it, but the fix wasn't for the reason they said. Your anchors might have been fine and you just got lucky with the conditions.
