Had to pick between a $20 light meter app or trusting my gut for a roll of Portra 400
I went with my gut at a birthday party last week, and all the indoor shots came out way too dark. Has anyone else had a meter app save them from a bad call like that?

Trusted my gut on a beach trip once and ended up with a roll of pure white frames. My gut is a terrible photographer. I've been using a free meter app since then and it hasn't steered me wrong. That twenty bucks for the good app sounds like cheap insurance against that sinking feeling.

My gut once told me a dark room was a great place to load film, so @thompson.finley, I feel your pain.

@angelab62, darkrooms don't actually need to be fully dark for loading film, just light-tight.
