Used to set posts with a sledge and eyeball. Now I use a laser level for every single one. The difference is night and day.

My buddy's fence line had a three inch dip over fifty feet from the old eyeball method. The laser showed it plain as day.

My uncle's deck looked level until a marble rolled off (it was pretty funny actually).

So what kind of laser level did he use? I've seen those rotary lasers for big outdoor jobs, but a simple cross line laser would probably show that dip too. Makes you wonder how many other projects are secretly off by a few inches lol.
