My sister told me to try a new way to mix my clay mask and it actually worked

She's not even in the field, but she watched me mix my green clay for a facial and said 'you're doing it too fast, let it sit for a minute after you add the water.' I always just stirred it right away and it would get lumpy. Last week, I tried her way, adding the distilled water and waiting a full 60 seconds before I stirred. The texture was SO smooth, no lumps at all. It applied like a dream for my 3 o'clock appointment. Has anyone else found a weird little trick that came from outside the treatment room?

Oh wow, that's so true! My friend, who just cooks at home, saw me struggling with a wax warmer and told me to put a tiny bit of coconut oil in first, just like @kaimiller's mom had a better method. It heats way more evenly now and never sticks. It's funny how the best tips come from outside the bubble.

Man, that's wild... I used to think I had the whole clay mask thing down pat. Like, I was all about stirring immediately because that's just what you do, right? But hearing this... I gotta admit, I was wrong. Patience really does pay off in the weirdest places. Makes me wonder what other little shortcuts I've been ignoring just 'cause they come from someone who doesn't work with this stuff.

My mom told me to warm the bottle of massage oil by putting it in a bowl of hot tap water for five minutes first. She saw me running it under the faucet and said that was wasteful. The heat gets more even her way and the client always comments on how nice it feels.
