Pro tip: a drop of super glue fixed a cracked ribbon cable connector on a PS4
The latch was broken and the cable wouldn't seat. I put a tiny dot of glue on the side of the connector to hold the cable in place, let it cure for 5 minutes, and it's been working for 3 weeks now. Anyone have a better fix for this besides replacing the whole port?

Wait, you're using super glue on electronics? That seems risky.

Ever think it would wreck the board? I used to avoid it like the plague. Then I saw a repair tech use a tiny drop to secure a loose USB port. The key is using the gel kind, not the runny stuff, and keeping it far from any contacts. It fixed my old laptop hinge for good.

Totally get where you're coming from about it wrecking the board. I had the same fear forever. But seeing that tip about the gel kind, not the runny stuff, is what made me try it. I used a tiny bit on a wobbly headphone jack and it's been solid for months now. You really have to be careful, but it can save a device you thought was done for. What else have you fixed with it?
