inDon't buy compression cubes for trips shorter than 10 days
Wells.amy makes a good point about laundry separation. Thanks for the tip.

inMy bullet journal bled through the page after I tried a new pen
My Leuchtturm looked like a Rorschach test after I tried a new pen last year. Honestly, I had to skip like five pages because the ghosting was so bad. Tbh, I just stick to basic ballpoints for my bujo now, the fancy ones are never worth the risk.

inVent: I thought the whole 'future log' thing was pointless busywork
Okay but how often does that actually happen? Most of the time my phone calendar works fine (and it pings me ten minutes before). The family reunion is a once-a-year thing. It feels like we're finding a use for a tool just because we bought the fancy notebook.

Yeah, that old school way is solid. Mixing your own mud lets you control the consistency perfectly for what you're doing. I still do it for certain jobs because the bag stuff can be too wet or set up wrong. The real trick he probably knew was adding a bit of lime to the mix for a better bond on some surfaces. You don't see that much anymore.

inTaping drywall joints used to take me forever until I switched methods
Bubbles are the worst. The thin first coat is key, but you have to press the tape down HARD with your knife. Go over it a few times, really squeezing out the extra mud. If you see a bubble, lift that spot with the knife tip, add a tiny dab of mud, and press it back down. Dry mud is your enemy, so work fast before that first coat skins over.
