Warning: I tried the new chat app 'River Valley Talk' for a month and it was way worse than the old 'YEG Connect'.

The new one had constant glitches, and last Tuesday it froze up completely during a discussion about the best pothole repair crews. The old app was slower but at least it worked. Has anyone else found a decent local chat platform that doesn't crash?

River Valley Talk was a total mess for me too. It kept dropping my messages in the middle of typing. I've just gone back to using the city's own community board page, even if it looks old. It loads slow but at least the threads don't vanish.

Ugh, did it just delete a whole paragraph for you too? That happened to me three times last week and I almost threw my laptop. The old city page is so clunky but you're right, at least it doesn't just eat your post. I feel like they tried to make it too fancy and broke the basic part of actually letting people talk.
