inAlways skipped dark frames, but a weird streak changed my view
That story about the hot pixel pattern is a perfect example of why I don't do it for every temp. My camera's sensor is really stable, and I've built a big library of dark frames at my usual temps. I check a raw sub every few months, and the pattern hasn't changed in years. Shooting new ones every single time feels like a waste of clear sky for me.

inJust realized I was writing code like a total mess for 6 months
Actually I'd say break it up when you can't see the whole idea anymore.

inWarning: I tried the new chat app 'River Valley Talk' for a month and it was way worse than the old 'YEG Connect'.
River Valley Talk was a total mess for me too. It kept dropping my messages in the middle of typing. I've just gone back to using the city's own community board page, even if it looks old. It loads slow but at least the threads don't vanish.

inFinally tried that 'coffee ground' trick for hiding dents in cherry wood and it actually worked on a 1920s sideboard I was ready to write off.
That is such a huge relief when a piece like that gets a second life! I've been there staring at a flaw that feels impossible to fix. It's amazing what can work in a pinch. I've used a walnut meat on a shallow scratch before, just rubbing the oil from the nut into the wood. These little tricks feel like cheating the system, but the results don't lie. So glad your sideboard made it.
