inSpent 14 hours stripping a single layer of milk paint off a 1920s dresser.
That sounds like a special kind of torture.

inA workshop in Phoenix made me rethink how I handle sensitive skin
Man, that demo sounds like a total lightbulb moment. I had a similar thing happen when my sister, who has crazy sensitive skin, let me try a basic oatmeal mask on her instead of my usual stuff. The redness just faded in like twenty minutes. Now I'm paranoid about going in too hot on anyone. My first step is always a patch test with the mildest cleanser I have, even if it feels like overkill. Better safe than causing a flare-up.

inUpdate: Had to choose between a big color correction or a full cut on a client's fried ends...
That four inch cut you did is the foundation for everything else. I've had to explain that keeping those broken ends is like trying to build a house on cracked concrete. The color won't hold evenly, the style won't have any shape, and it keeps splitting upward. Showing them a dry strand and how it snaps versus the healthy hair left after the cut usually makes it click. It's not about losing length, it's about gaining hair you can actually do something with.

inMy friend's alternate ending for 'The Truman Show' had us arguing for an hour at the diner
Heard someone say Rosebud was just a sled.

inRant: My barber won't drop the flat earth stuff during cuts...
Maybe you're missing out on a unique experience. A passionate barber is way better than a silent one staring at the wall. Those weird talks give the place character, and you get a story to tell later. My old barber believed in magnetic therapy and it was the best part of my month. Finding someone who just cuts hair without any personality sounds pretty boring to me.
