My uncle swore the old Edmonton chat was useless for finding a plumber, but I got a solid referral in 20 minutes.
He said to just use the phone book, but I posted in the 'services' thread and had three numbers by the time my coffee was done. Anyone else find good local help there recently?

Totally get what you're saying, Kelly. WilliamPrice makes a fair point about the chat, but it's a real mixed bag. You still have to sort through a ton of people who just talk and never follow through. The real test is if they actually set a plan and show up. That filter happens way later, no matter where you find them.
