Just realized my buddy in Phoenix was right about not browning meat for the slow cooker
He told me last weekend, 'the extra pot and 20 minutes of effort for a marginal flavor gain isn't worth it for a Tuesday night,' and for my basic pulled chicken, he's totally correct.

That "one less dish to wash" thing from @taylor_garcia is so real. My kitchen sink is basically a monument to my own laziness. I'll use a fresh mug every time for coffee just to avoid washing one, so skipping the browning pan feels like a huge win. I can just dump the chicken in and walk away, and my dinner feels like a gift from my past, slightly smarter self.
