Walked out of a library sale with a 1963 guide to raising chinchillas for just 10 cents, is that actually a weird flex or do you guys also hunt for the most bizarre topics?
The entire week after that was a bust because I spent 3 hours reading about chinchilla fur grading instead of looking for actual readable books.

Oh for crying out loud, that's a steal and honestly a kind of beautiful waste of time. Three hours on fur grading? That's dedication. But my real question is, did the book actually tell you what you're supposed to do with the chinchillas after you grade them? Like, are you selling the fur or just keeping a very well-dressed rodent?

Oh man, that's a great question @ivan522. Did the book ever address what you're actually producing with all that knowledge? I mean, I could see someone getting really into grading and then just having a notebook full of fur quality notes and nothing else to show for it. Were there chapters about breeding or pelt preparation too, or was it literally just "here's how to tell if a chinchilla is premium and good luck"?

Yeah, that's pretty much the whole book.
