Just read that a standard architectural scale ruler has 11 different scales on it

I found this out in a 1980s drafting textbook at a used bookstore. I've been using the same six-scale one for a decade and never thought to check. Does anyone actually use all eleven, or is that overkill for most jobs?

My old boss had the full eleven-scale one and I used maybe four of them regularly. The rest were for super specific old school details or checking other people's weird drawings. It's handy to have them all on there just in case, but overkill for day to day work lol.

Which four scales did you actually use day to day, @grant748? I'm betting the common ones like quarter inch and half inch were on that list... maybe three-eighths too. The super specific ones must have been for those oddball renovation prints where nothing matches modern standards. Seems like having the full set is more about covering your butt than daily need.
