Remember when you had to wait for film to see if a cloud shot turned out?

I was on a camping trip in the Adirondacks about 15 years ago and saw the most amazing lenticular cloud stack over the mountains, but my disposable camera ran out of shots. Now I just pull out my phone and take a dozen pictures in a minute. Does anyone else miss the surprise of getting your photos back, even if you missed the shot?

My first camera was a disposable one too.

Yeah it's funny how that was the standard first step for so many people. I've been seeing this pattern where we all start with the same simple tools, like those cheap cameras or basic sketch pads. It makes me wonder if having fewer choices back then actually helped us focus on just making stuff, instead of getting stuck picking the perfect gear. Now everything feels so polished from the get-go, it's harder to just mess around and learn.

Oh man, @evan_harris14, that brings back memories. I remember getting those for school trips and using up the whole roll on blurry pictures of my friends. It really was a fun way to start out.
