inJust realized using a zip tie to hold the fuel line clip open saved me 20 minutes on a 6.7 Powerstroke injector swap.
Notice how the best fixes are almost always the simplest ones that just kinda sit there doing their job quietly. Zip ties are like the duct tape of the mechanical world, I swear. You can use them for anything from holding a bumper on to organizing cables to apparently saving your sanity on a Powerstroke. It's like once you realize most of these stupid modern clips and fasteners are designed by someone who never actually had to work on the thing, you start looking for the cheap plastic hack that beats their "engineered" solution every time.

inPicked Interactive Brokers over Charles Schwab and now I'm dealing with margin confusion
Margin rates are cheap but TWS makes Schwab look like a children's coloring book.

inTIL you can fix a sticky door lock with a pencil instead of WD-40
That graphite trick saved my lock too, worked perfectly for months now.

inPro tip: That 'hard freeze' warning caught me off guard last winter
Wait until you notice the same pattern playing out everywhere. People ignore every warning until they get burned, then act surprised. The city puts out freeze alerts, my friend ignores his check engine light for months, neighbors keep parking on the street during snow routes. Nobody learns from other people's mistakes, only their own. You'd think after a few close calls we'd all start paying attention, but nope, human nature is stubborn as hell.

inTried welding up a forge from an old brake drum and it cracked on first heat
Popped a weld on my first brake drum forge back in '08. Was out in the shed around midnight, tired, running some 6013 rod way too cold. Got a nice little fire going, threw in a railroad spike, and then a loud ping sound. Crack ran right along the weld seam and the whole thing just kind of sighed and settled crooked. I just sat there staring at it for a good five minutes. Ended up taking the whole mess to a guy who had a stick welder that could actually push enough amps. He welded it up hot and it held for years after. Pretty sure I was just using a crappy little Harbor Freight buzz box that couldn't even burn a rod right.
