My neighbor said his new SUV was 'green' because it gets 22 mpg
I was grabbing my mail yesterday and he was showing it off. He was totally serious, saying it was better for the planet than his old truck. It just hit me how messed up the marketing is, making people think a slight improvement is the same as real action. Has anyone else had a conversation like that that just left you shaking your head?

Did he say what his old truck got for mileage? Because if it was getting 15 mpg, then 22 is technically better, but it's still a gas guzzler in the grand scheme. The bar is just set so low now that any small step feels like a win, when we really need a giant leap. It's frustrating how the word "green" gets slapped on anything that's slightly less bad.
