My cat still remembers that one time I dropped her at the vet 5 years ago
I brought my cat Mittens to the vet last week for a routine checkup and she hissed at the receptionist - same woman who took her back for surgery back in 2019. She usually loves everyone but that one lady got the stink eye for a solid 10 minutes before we left. Has anyone else had a cat hold a grudge against a specific person like that?

Read somewhere cats hold grudges through scent memory. Mittens ain't forgetting that smell anytime soon.

Oh, so Mittens has a "special" friend at the vet office now, huh? That's basically a 5 year long grudge, which is honestly impressive for a cat that forgets where her food bowl is half the time. I swear they remember the important stuff like betrayals but not the fact that you just gave them a treat 30 seconds ago. My cat once ignored me for a week after I gave her a bath, but a whole decade of hating on a receptionist is next level commitment. Guess the lady better watch her back every time Mittens comes to visit!
