The day a parrot in Scottsdale tried to help me install

I was laying carpet in this huge house, and the owner's African Grey kept yelling 'stretch it tighter' every time I used the knee kicker. Then it flew down, grabbed a tack strip in its beak, and waddled across the room with it. I had to bribe it with a cracker to get my supplies back. Has anyone else had a pet completely derail a job?

Totally get it. Had a beagle that decided my tape measure was a chew toy during a trim job. The dog would not let go, and we had this ridiculous tug of war in the client's living room. I finally won by trading for a piece of beef jerky from my lunch. The whole thing added like forty minutes to the job because I had to keep my tools in a locked toolbox after that.

Forty minutes over a tape measure tug of war seems like a lot. It's just a funny story, not a real work disaster. A locked toolbox for a beagle is a bit much, don't you think? These things are minor delays, not job derailments. People make it sound like a huge deal when it's just a pet being a pet.
